Dad lived another ten years after that, but died four days after he turned 91. (I really thought he was going to get to 100. But he got a very fast lung cancer from working most of that year since his 90th birthday when I took him finally see some aplacas on an alpaca ranch. The man there gave him about 9 raw alpaca pelts, and Dad spent that year cleaning the fibres, carding them and then spinning yarn from which he knit socks and mitts to keep his feet and hands warm. He gave me a pair of these super-warm socks too, but I've put them away as a souviner.
