Come, join me on a very personal devotional study of the book of Matthew. It is just one page to read each day and to consider how the words of Jesus affect you, as they have me.
I've made a point of being very transparent as I react to the words Jesus said in various situations, and I think over how these can be applied in my life and my walk with Him.
There are no assignments or blanks to fill in. You may read my example and ask yourself honestly what your own response is. If you find yourself coming to the same conclusion I did, you may join me in praying the short prayer at the end of the page before you rise up to go and make efforts to live out your own response throughout the day, or even for the days and weeks to come. The goal being to become more obedient to Jesus' instructions as we get to know Him and His counsel from our study in Matthew.
I began to see in Matthew, that this disciple was thoroughly a Jew and his perception of Jesus was that He was to be our King. That means we must learn to honour and respect Jesus as the ultimate authority figure in our lives, and seek to do all that He commanded His disciples - and us.
