What About Downsizing?

How do you feel about "downsizing" possessions? My siblings have strongly recommended it, and I do see the value. I'm even willing to designate a daily hour or half-hour to do it. Especially now that my back is feeling much better.

Oh!! But what if I fracture my back again just to pull bins and boxes off the shelves in the basement?

I mentioned this worry to a friend on Sunday, and she recommended that I get a stronger friend to help me with that.

O-ka-y?? But who would have the patience to do that with me? We could get some chatting done all that time, but what if they want to be paid? What is the going rate for helping to downsize?

I brought Dad's homemade and sturdy shelving units when I moved here. They go around three sides of the basement walls. At least three broad shelves in each one. This "downsizing" project cannot be done in a single evening.

I'm guestimating 6 to 12 or even 20 hours. Sigh! Having a cheerful helper sounds so appealing-- but who would be up for that? Or, would I have to search for another friend, when the last one tires out?

Maybe I need to line up a pickup truck to take a lot of bags of garbage away to the dump site.

I tried putting out my garbage bin and 3 extra black bags in the alley recently. The regular city garbage truck ignored ALL of THEM! (I'll try just the black bin tomorrow morning....)

Okay. Let's see what kind of feedback, suggestions or volunteers this may bring.

What Happens After Death?

Many people worry about this. Those of us brought up in a Bible-teaching church probably already know what happens to Christians and what happens to those who do not trust in Christ for eternity in Heaven.

If you watch quite a few YouTube videos (a new habit I have picked up), you may have noticed a flood of videos about people who were dead for just a few minutes and then recovered and were present in this world again.

I have been surprised at how many of these testimonies are by people who have no Christian faith at all, such as Muslims, but they report meeting Jesus, and that He urges them to trust in Him for salvation and paradise after death, then sends them to return to their earthly lives and their new testimony often causes families and whole communities to trust in Jesus for Salvation!

Last night I watched this one by an atheist brain surgeon who came back a Believer in Christ Jesus!

Watch it here:

If you put "near-death experience" into the search bar you will get many more such testimonials!

I'm thrilled at how Jesus Himself is evangelizing people! Maybe we're too slow at this?
