What's New: Too Many Pots on the Go?

Have you ever tried to cook food in four different pots on your stove - one on every element? Most people who cook regularly in the kitchen are smart enough to only work at stirring one pot - maybe let another one simmer.

With only a little experience we learn that keeping four pots hot and lively on the store is a dumb idea. Okay, perhaps if you have a helper and you both work well together in the same kitchen... maybe then it might be safe.

(Sigh!) That image comes to mind when I think of all my internet projects that I have on the go, and it's hard to juggle them all at once. I'm trying to figure out a schedule so that each gets some time but does not interfere with three other projects that need my full attention.

Even that goal is hard to attain when I never know if the one I'm working on right now will take longer and then I'll have to ignore the next project because I just can't fit it in before supper and the gardening work hour - unless it rains.

Generally I stay up til midnight, to get the max out of my day.

What are my steaming pots? (1) I'm trying to learn to do a sales funnel (I have a plan, but have to work at it until I have something that works.)

(2) I'm also trying to learn SEO marketing - but at this stage I can only watch helpful videos and take notes. Then I will need to set aside some blocks of hours to do this work on every page of every website in my care, and the novel's site is over 1000 pages! (Yes! Really!)

I have a client (evangelist/pastor) in Uganda, for whom I've worked on his website for many years. (Back even before I move into Saskatoon). I've been rebuilding his site as I had promised last year, and when I found a lot of old reports pages, which are out of date, (3) but put into a collection in an ebook and then offered on his site to visitors who care about these things - well, that will keep me busy for many days. But I believe some of these ebooks could be sold so that he could have more support for his ministry - which is always needing cash.

I can make ebooks easily enough, but they do take time. How much of my time can I set aside for this project?

Meantime, I've been giving up 3 weeks now of the time I normally give to working on the site for my brother Tom so that his daughters can get a good inheritance from him. That site will benefit when I know how to do that SEO marketing, probably also from the skill to make funnels. (4) However, I've only got over 100 models photographed, researched and written up. There are nearly 2000 models to go yet! When can I get back to that work? Even just the 3 evenings/week back again would be a huge help.

I do praise God for the sale that came on Saturday night, I quickly printed out the invoice, packed it with the model and took it to the post office after church on Sunday.

Ah... but if the pages for that site all get good SEO set up for each page/model, I will need to make time for more packing and mailing the models.

I could find more projects, but those are the four pots on my Business burners, and I'm struggling to LEARN and DO them all. If I stir the learning pots first, then I can take them off the burners and focus on the final to-do projects.

Yes PRAYER & PERSISTENCE do help. I pray every day for grace not to panic, but to plod steadily onward. Your prayers are much appreciated!!

A Christian Reaction to the Daily News

Almost by accident (?!) I've discovered a 5 minute email news letter that summarizes the biggest news of the day, politically neutral, and written by Christians.

Their welcome emails explains all this better than I can, but they just crossed the 1 million subscribers milestone, and I can see why.

Sometimes the secular news is so depressing I'm not sure I really want to hear/read it. But the "Pour Over" is a refreshing response - often quoting just the right Scripture to show us how to react to the news, sometimes how to see through it and at other times, giving us a Bible verse to show how to pray about that political news item, and the people involved.

This quick 5 minute READ clears the air in my mind and shows me how to respond in a godly way to the top news items.
