Signs of Winter Coming

Do you see the signs of winter coming too? If you have a garden you have likely harvested all you are going to get from it.

Perhaps like me, you have at least another raking of leaves to do. My rain barrel needs to be emptied.

Dad always worried about that. He had experienced when the rain barrel full of water froze, and that sturdy rain barrel burst open into pieces. So I've learned to KNOW I have to get that barrel empty quite soon.

(Sigh! I would have this done and the last of the raking if I hadn't been so absorbed in getting the shipping routines worked out and clear in my own mind.)

The forecast I saw this morning for this week is that it will start snowing this Thursday. At least some flurries. How long or how much snow will fall... is to be seen.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour;" (Isa. 43:2-3a)

Yes, it is good to remember how great YOU are, O LORD GOD! Okay, I'm glad to be reminded that when I'm in any kind of troubles, YOU are with me - even this matter of the documents for shipping into the USA. When I'm wading in deep waters, the water will not sweep over me and drown me. Even when I walk through the fire I will not be burned, the flames will not set me ablaze. Why? How come?

Because the One who is watching over me is the LORD, my GOD, the Holy One of Israel and my Saviour! So... I'm going to make it through this NEW experience, YOU are walking with me through it all and I shall come out safe and successful. Thank YOU for this precious assurance, LORD GOD!
