Now What about Black Beauty?

Well, before I made the sales transaction with Fay I had called my insurance company and talked with an SGI agent about the steps involved in a private sale, as it was over a decade since my last private car purchase. (Feb/2013)

When I told the woman on the phone that I didn't know what to charge for my old "Black Beauty" she suggested $3000. I said that was more than I'd paid for it. She said, "Well, if you start high, you can always come down, but going up doesn't wash with most customers."

So I made two signs with large black letters and laminated them both, and taped them inside the rear side windows.

"Yes, Black Beauty
is for sale now!"

Since it is parked right in front of my house that should be easy to figure out.

So far no bites. If need-be I can make new signs.

I've had suggestions made that I should post it on Kijij and Facebook's Marketplace. I have not really had time to do that - my life is so crowded with extras, (like yesterday I was asked to be at a UK mission's AGM (Annual General Meeting) via Zoom. So there went my morning.

But I will try to do so fairly soon. Fortunately, my license on that car does not expire for 3 months. So I can wait. (Mind you, it is on today Agenda list).

However, maybe it is time now to start praying that it will come into the hands of someone who really needs such a car and who will take good care of it.

Apology for the IQ Test Links

Last week I gave you a bunch of links to online IQ quizzes. Now I take that back! Sorry, I should have tried them ahead of that - then I would not have recommended them.

I tried two-three of them, and they were nothing but a test of one's ability to see which designs (in small circles or squares) showed a pattern that you could spot and thus decide which of the optional designs should come next to maintain that pattern.

Yikkes! I have not played such puzzle games in many decades. It was not a test of my collected knowledge over the seven decades of my life.

I've been a thirsty sponge for knowledge all my life, and read far more than was ever required of me. I've begun to forget some things, but I still figured I would do better with a true quiz of my knowledge from a number of topics. A study of patterns in images was NOT a part of my learning.

You may still wish to do those quizzes, if that appeals to you but I feel like I led you astray. So I am withdrawing that recommendation.

I promise to be more careful in the future.
