Sunday morning I was hurrying to my car to drive to church - WHOA! I found a huge long tree branch had fallen across my garden.
I managed to walk around it on the wet garden soil, but when I came home with some groceries to bring to the door in my cart, I had to pull the branch off to one side.
I was trying to guess at it's length and decided a few minutes ago to go out and measure it. Turns out it is 9 feet and 6 inches long.
My sister told me on the phone on Sunday that a city will sometimes clean up trees when they fall, or even get rid of them if their branches are in danger of tangling with power lines. I did call them yesterday but they are dealing with so many tree problems from the storms on Friday & Saturday that I'll have to wait a few days before they come to check out my situation.
If my photo of the branch doesn't show up in your email, you can go find it online on my website where I still put the online edition of the RoseBouquet each week. https://ruthes-secretroses.com/rb/index.shtml
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.
When people want to know something.... (like this morning I wanted to know what a Baby Diesel truck looks like. So I went to Google and asked my question.) In an instant Google served up a list of sites that mention or describe this kind of truck!
I clicked on the first link and up came a video where a man was explaining - these red and black trucks were both "baby Diesel trucks" but they had some differences. The man answering this question explained those differences by pointing to them, but then he also got into each truck and I could go along with his camera beside his head...somehow, and experience what he was experiencing in the ride.
Great! Now I know what to expect when Jalise and Chris come in their Baby Diesel truck to pick up my sister Elsie's desk suite with 5 parts. And yes, I can see it all fitting into their truck box!
Well, SEO helps lots of people find just what they want to know on the internet. If my site answers some questions I need to be sure to use the right keywords... so they can tell - YES, this web page answers their question!
So if I want visitors to find my site I need to research to see what are the best keywords to use so that when they ask their questions, Google will serve up my site in a split second. In fact if I enter my main keywords for each page in the meta tags which are all on the under-side of the webpage, Google and all the other search engines bring the visitors I want to my site and even the exact page with the right words!
I already understood this to a certain degree and have always entered my keywords in those hidden meta tags. But now as I do more research I'm learning there are extra ways to make sure every page on a website is baited with the best keywords to draw in the visitors - or buyers you want to serve.
It will probably take me a year to go over every site in my care and make sure the SEO is the best I can make it for every page!
But hey! This is free marketing. It just costs me time!
