Do pictures or ads for muscle-strengthening equipment get your eye? But when you see the price, you look away, right?
I decided last evening while weeding in the backyard - and yes those weeds came up to my knees and some were lots taller than that - almost as tall as I am!
But I was using good rubber gloves with a rough grip surface on the palms, so I grabbed those weeds close to the roots and pulled them up out of the ground. YES!! Even when I needed both hands on the same plant!
It occurred to me that I was developing my hand muscles so that they must be the very strongest muscles in my whole body!
Then I got to thinking of the many hours I sit at my desktop and type away at break-neck speed! That is a great exercise for stronger hand muscles too.
My back zigs and zags this way and that, so I don't even want to do calisthenics. That would result in injuries. It is better to exercise my hands so that they are stronger and able to be very productive.
This is why I like to allow an hour after supper and dishes are done, to go out and weed in the garden or the flower beds. It is work that needs to be done, has long-term value - (well, if summer counts as a longer time).
Hey, I even sit at weed-pulling. I sit astride a wooden tool my Dad made years ago for something else, but I use it as a wee hobby horse that I can sit on, and still reach out and grab a good handful of weeds - and hank 'em out of the ground!
I filled a 10 gallon bucket twice last night, with the weeds pressed down - and emptied it into the green (compost) bin.
I know that the rototiller man who comes to fuff up my garden in spring would break his tines if he went over that back area of ground as it is full of gravel.
Now, if I knew of someone with a small tractor with larger stronger plow shears at the back, I would be glad to let him till up this soil and make it more suitable for gardening. My big weeds think it is their territory though, and are glad that I don't know any one with a tractor and plow blades.
It occurs to me that sometimes your emails do not arrive when you expect them to; if you find yourself missing it sorely, you can find it online you just need to memorize or save this URL to go look for it online.
[Incidentally, I was relieved yesterday when I had that no-emails problem that the websites were still on the internet. They had not disappeared!]
So to check for it online wait until about mid-afternoon on a Tuesday or any day after that and hunt for it on my site at this address. (save this next line): https://ruthes-secretroses.com/rb/index.shtml
If you are telling someone else about it, and raving about the RoseBouquet, why not give them a link to get subscribed for free: /rb/Subscribe-to-RoseBouquet.shtml
(Mind you, that may change once I have a new home for it at systeme.io... but I'll let you know when that happens.)
