God's Precious Promises Give Me Peace

In the interest of time, and to share what is most helpful to me this morning, I will give you these Bible Promises that means so much to me.

"Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man.
Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely,
who conducts his affairs with justice.
... He will have no fear of bad news;
his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD."
(Psa.112:5 & 7)

"Even now my witness is in Heaven;
my Advocate is on High.
My Intercessor is my Friend
as my eyes pour out tears to God;
on behalf of a man he pleads with God
as a man pleads for his friend.
Only a few years will pass
before I go on a journey of no return."
(Job 16:19-22)

"I know that You can do all things;
no plan of Yous can be thwarted." (Job 42:2)

"LORD, You have assigned me my portion and my cup;
You have made my lot secure. The boundary lines
have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance."
(Psa. 16:5-6)

"You give me Your Shield of Victory,
and Your right hand sustains me;
You stoop down to make me great.
You broaden my path beneath me,
so that my ankles do not turn."
(Psa. 18:35-36)

"For I am the LORD, Your God,
who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, "Do not Fear;
I will help you.""
(Isa. 41:13).

"Give, and it will be given to you.
A good measure, pressed down,
shaken together and running over,
will be poured into your lap.
For with the measure you use,
it will be measured to you."
(Luke 6:38)

Then the LORD invites/urges us to ASK. . .

"So I say to you;
Ask and it will be given to you;
Knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives;
he who seeks finds,
and to him who knocks,
the door will be opened."
(Luke 11:9-11)

Feel free to claim any of these that speak to you!

(Incidentally, these are from the NIV translation).

Preventing Forests to Pop Up

My ebook Shop has moved to the novel's site, and though the Store-Front page doesn't look perfect yet (to me) you might just want to see what kind of ebooks are already there and ripe for sales.

I'm glad to have 3 American Elm trees on my yard, plus a maple that is terribly eager and in a hurry to multiply too. But a couple of weeks ago there was a strong wind storm and these trees shed thousands upon thousands of white seeds (smaller than a penny -if you recall what they looked like).

I don't know about you, but I really don't want thousands of trees to pop up like mini forests in my garden and wannabe lawn.

It takes quite a while to clean them up. Last week I resorted to my most effective method. I straddle a wooden stool, and with old, used garden gloves on my hands I sweep the white seeds all together in clumps, and them scoop them up with both hands to drop in the garbage bag-lined bin nearby.

It is slow going, and takes much patience, but at least I feel better about preventing forests from jumping up in my flowerbeds and garden.

When the tiny tree sprouts are just 1-2 inches high it is not so hard to pull them out and drop them into the bin, but when they get to be 3-4 inches high, they have strong roots that go down three-to-four times their above-ground height. Then you need a spade to get rid of them!

It's best to rake up the seeds with old gloves, and keep alert for the 1-2 inch seedlings!
