Last week - even the week before - my computer system crashed or froze a number of times. It seemed all I could do was turn the computer off, count to 30 and start it up again. But that gets old rather quickly when you do that several times a day.
So I backed up my files and my emails (so I thought) on Friday morning and spent the afternoon installing a newer version of my system. I thought it went well, but knew it would take time to set up all my emails again. Because of the time given to someone else, I didn't get to that until Saturday and Sunday evenings.
I thought things were in order by Monday morning, but again I was away for a number of hours, and still, when I got home no incoming emails.
Yesterday and today went the same way, but I hope tonight to check and see what little error I made in the setup of the emails. Hopefully it is a small, minor detail.
Mind you, I can still login to the controls of each website in my care, and check the emails there. It's just not as handy as doing so in my own KMail program.
I do hope to catch up soon - even this week!
To be truly tech-savvy you use technology to make your life better and easier. To be tech-dependent is to live as if you can't do without all your gadgets.
To be tech-savvy is to use technology to help you talk to people, learn, share and accomplish your work projects.
To be tech-dependent means you feel as if you are adrift on a sea without all your gadgets.
A certain professional man used emails, online calendars and created Power Points, but for everyday math he used his head, nor did he let everything go into his phone. He chose how to use technology. He maintained his human essence.
I agree heartily with his viewpoint!
Use techology - but keep your human-side alive and well too.
