A Major Family Clan Gathering in May!

I don't know when Easter weekend starts for you, but this Friday is "Good Friday" of Easter and the regular start for the whole Easter weekend for me - and for most Christians, no matter what country they are in.

From my earliest childhood memories our family went to church on Good Friday morning to hear the story of Jesus dying for our sins on the cross. We sang hymns about it then.

Sometimes His resurrection was also mentioned but at most times that was delayed until the Easter Sunday morning - that's when we'd celebrate Jesus' Resurrection!

Besides the church celebrations, there was also the big family gatherings at my grandparents' gray farmhouse. Relatives who could get off an extra day or so from their jobs would drive in - sometimes from other provinces - and stay at our grandparents' home and sometimes our school-age cousins would sleep at our house! Oh what fun to have visitors!

The adults and their babies would stay at our grand- parents' house - just a brisk run through the pasture from our house.

Oh what fun to have visitors! Especially, if they could stay an extra day or two! We considered it an honour to have a cousin share a bed with us!

If winter had not quite departed for good, we might stomp around in the snow and puddles in our boots. ...But if spring had already arrived, we'd go for bigger, longer walks, exploring in the pasture and checking on the cattle grazing in the fresh green grass.

We asked questions, told riddles and jokes and had a great time that blurred in our memory later when we wanted to tell someone else about all we did.

The edges of our memories grow fuzzy with time but it is amazing how such holiday memories stay with us for many decades!

You may be used to watching TV. I don't have or want one but I have been finding some educational and some fun entertainment in YouTube Videos.

There's quite a lot of info about using food as remedies in health issues.

Or for that matter, one can pick up some advance news like about changing laws for seniors driving regulations. Whoa! There are going to be some stiff fine for some new rules that all drivers will need to watch out for!

Political videos about well-known people like President Trump can be fascinating for sheer absurd things that are happening, like in the Russia-Ukraine war.

Our Canadian Prime Minister is becoming well-known for his ways of foiling President Trumps attempts to trip him up.

I'll need to break this habit up, but sometimes, watching something for FUN is restful. right?
