Are you hurrying to get various loose ends finished off this week too, before the Christmas weekend is upon us? This must be the case in almost every home around us.
No matter how we celebrate Christmas, or not at all, most of us are scrambling to get the last minute things done before guests start to arrive, or we have to pack up to travel to spend a few days with other relatives or friends.
Oh, what about so-and-so? I need to find or buy a gift for that person in so many days! What about preparing clothes?
GASP! There's the housecleaning to do! ...and extra baking too!
We've known for 12 months that this time was coming, but it's in this last week or few days, that we race around in circles to get all these last-minute things done!
I like to think I plan ahead, but somehow this still happens in my home too. I got a large bag full of snail mail letters out last week (giving up everything to focus on that) last night I started on a shorter list of people I can email my letter and card to, but I still have six names left to send to, except...
I want to ask if you as a subscriber to my RoseBouquet want to get my extra email; my Christmas mail? Some of you I have already sent to, but if you are afraid you may be missed, do send me a quick email to ASK for my Christmas mail.
I haven't invited guests over for the big Christmas meal (I don't have enough stamina for the kitchen hours, but if I become aware of someone with no place to go, I'll gladly invited them over. But I will spread my work over at least two days. Some on Sunday afternoon or evening and finishing up on Christmas day. (I've already made a pumpkin torte dessert.)
Then I'll snack on cold turkey the rest of the week.
How are your plans coming together?
