I do not enjoy dwelling on my health issues, but I'll catch you up on the latest developments and try to focus on the cheerful notes.
Towards the end of last week I thought I was doing quite well, even to being able to walk across the room without my cane or leaning on furniture.
However the temperatures dropped to the mid -30s! I had a chiro appointment on Thursday, but a friend had cleared the snow in my garden path and plugged in the car.
I didn't know that the plug was so new it was hard to pull out of my old long cord. I struggled for about 15 minutes, and got painful cramps in my neck and forehead, while I pleaded for divine help. Finally, it came and I was able to go to my apt and some errands.
The first errand was just off Warman Road and only took a couple of minutes, and I was able to stay in the car. However, I made the mistake of thinking that from here, the fastest way to my apt was to take Warman Road north for a bit, then onto Circle Drive - which is a freeway! However, there had been an accident on the bridge, and traffic was creeping so slowly! (My watch had died, so I could only guess at the time).
When I reached the wide bridge I saw a fire truck, 3 police cars, and a black car that must've spun around, hit the bridge fence, and burst into flames. It had scorch marks all over the front.
I made it to my appointment okay, and afterwards decided to take time for just three of the other errands I'd planned to run. By the time I was lugging my 2 bag of groceries to the door I was just utterly exhausted. Wiped out!
The rest of the week I felt better and moved around the house with more ease. I even vacuumed the floors on Saturday night and mopped the floors. Though I could hardly sit up after that.
the plug (even going back inside to find a clothes pin I couldSunday was the coldest day so far. Again I had to wrestle with use to wedge them apart).
This time I had only one errand after church. To get 2 items at Bulk Barn (which is in that part of the city). As I got out of the car right in front of their door, I tripped on my cane, and landed on the left side of my left knee on some ice. What pain!
No one saw, so I grabbed the door and pulled myself upright. My knee was in real pain, but if I leaned on the cane, shifting most of my weight to the right leg, I could move forward. As soon as I was in the door I grabbed a cart, found my run-out items, and checked out. Then drove straight home.
Back to my usual remedies, painkillers & a heating pad to warm and relax the muscles and nerves.
Right now my chiropractor, Dr. Kayla, is off on a holiday in a warm climate, but she'll be back for my next appointment on Feb. 2nd. I wonder if she'll say my knee is out of shape or what. No sign of bruises; just great tenderness.
