I left you hanging last week with the announcement that I had a doctor appointment in the afternoon. A number of you wrote to say you were praying for me, and glad that I had a doctor at last. Thank you! I appreciate that so much!
Something surprised me about the clinic; it seems to have become a Muslim business, and extremely busy.
(My Dr. Sandra Wegner was asked to start it as a Christian clinic, sponsored by a Chinese Christian business man about 2010. She may have seen this coming when she retired).
They had a crisis in the midst of all the people waiting to be seen. A tall young woman was raving and yelling/swearing at the staff. When I saw her walk by me it seemed she had been shot or cut in her neck!
A police woman arrived and took her away.
No wonder they try to do appointments by phone whenever possible.
I saw that Dr. Watts (a young man with brisk polite manners), but I didn't read the Requisition sheet until the next morning after my devotions, when about to leave for the lab. He had said fasting was not required, but the sheet insisted on it for blood samples; I decided to wait til Thursday morning.
I'm normally feel weak in the morning, needing my pre-devotions apple. Hoping to get the tests done quickly, and back home, I aimed to get there at 7am, but took some wrong turns, and made it for 7:30.
It didn't hurt, but the attendant whisked at least 7 vials of blood from the needle inside my left elbow. Next she wanted 'other' samples. I assured her I had been fasting and was quite empty. So she bagged some containers and told me to bring them back within 24 hours. - I was back later that afternoon.
However, a man came to look the samples over and told me that I had not done the fecal samples right. He kept saying "school" (as it sounded to me). The receptionist explained that he meant "stool." So he bagged 2 more containers and asked me to bring them back the next day. Which I did early in the morning to get it over-with!
Friday afternoon Dr. Watts called and had got some results back already. I scribbled them on an envelop and now can hardly read my writing, but he said my B12 was high, and he was concerned about my pancreas. So now he wanted me to go for ultra sounds and x-rays. I was able to download/print out 2 new requisition sheets. An appointment is needed for the Ultra sound, I've set that up for Thursday this week. The woman there said the X-ray dept was in the same building but no apt was needed, so I'll just go there when the first tests are done.
The Doctor mentioned that he's on vacation this week, so likely I won't hear any more about the results until next week at the earliest.
I do feel the LORD is in charge of all that concerns me. For which I'm grateful.
I've also begun to feel stronger in the last few days - yet, I do tire out more than usual. The best remedy is taking a nap!
~~~~~~!
By the way, did you celebrate the Family Day holiday yesterday? I'm afraid I didn't - other things on my mind - but I did recall this morning that today is Dad's birthday. He was born February 20th, 1916. Hmm..? wondering, are they celebrating his 108th birthday in Heaven?[Back to Archives Index ] ~~ [Back to Main RoseBouquet Page]
