Wow! I seemed hopeful last week that my computer trials were about over, didn't I? Well, generally I'm a positive thinker, and look for the sunshine in every situation.
Is that what you do too? Sometimes sunshine is hard to find.
There have been a number of stormy days though since last Tuesday. In fact, just now I'm hesitant to describe all that as some of the stuff has blurred in my memory. I could maybe put together a detailed history if I check my daily prayer Journal, as that is where I go when I need to talk it all over with someone who cares and can give me good advice.
Let's see if I can summarize it in a sentence or two. When Debian just would not install, I switched to Tumbleweed; it did install, but with problems. I spent a long day trying to format the hard drive to allow me to install two systems but it kept giving me error messages. After a lot of prayer, I decided the next day to install my OpenSuse LEAP 15.5 again, but to make sure to download the latest updates.
That went much better. I thought I'd won! I started setting up my list of emails the next day, only to see at the end that only my ISP address could send out emails. All the others were receiving only. Any replies went out only by my ISP email. NOT a good idea! I deleted KMail and all my work.
I took Sunday off to let my heaving heart slow down. Yesterday I researched what other email client software was out there, and settled for Claws email. (I'd tried it out years ago, and thought it was too new an idea; too much coding!) But now it has grown up, and it allowed me to set up my batch of emails that I usually check daily. I finished just after midnight. (I'll check today whether they all do work!)
Then I need to set up another smaller batch for the ones I used to check once a week in Thunderbird. I might try that again.
Back to hoping that in another day or two I can go back to my daily agenda of business hours on my 3 BIG projects.
