My Friends are my RoseBouquet

Is Spring Really Here?

My calendar showed yesterday as the Spring Equinox, but CBC on the radio, as I was getting up, was saying that today is the first full day of spring. Hmm..? Well, either way, the prospects look very good.

The sun is shining, the temperatures are near 0 Celsius. There is a chance of a light snow forecast for today, but then the forecasts indicate that they are going stay around 0 and just a degree or two above/below for the next six days, with sunshine!

This means our snow is going to melt fairly fast and soon I will be in a mood to plot my garden, check my seeds, and think about my summer routines.

Does this affect you the same way?

On the other hand, I had meant to do some deep cleaning inside my house because those summer routines expend all my physical energies outside in the garden and yard, and so I cringe at all the work that is going to sit undone inside here.

I'd had such lofty goals of downsizing my crowded pantry, and the bathroom and bedroom need it too! Plus, I had hoped to get my basement purged of excess stuff that I have not used in the 14-15 years I've lived here. All those hard decisions about what to keep and what to get rid of are up to me. Couldn't ask you!

I've been egging myself on by promising that once I have reduced a lot of "STUFF" I will feel my way clear to hiring a cleaning woman, because in the summer I don't have the physical stamina to work several hours in the garden, and then come in and clean like a white tornado for another couple of hours.

Right now this future looks rather fuzzy....
