By the end of last week, I thought most of my problems were resolved; I was beginning to get my work agenda/schedule back.
Still, there were odd computer system errors or difficulties. I began to look forward to the next upgrade to the latest LEAP development. I've been with that linux system for so many years I can't recall just when I started - when it was still called OpenSuse. I know I still lived in Hague, so it has to be pre- 2007. I had been using LEAP 15.4, but gone back to LEAP 15.2 a few weeks ago because some programs just stopped working.
Well, some programs were beginning to act up there as well, though, things worked smoothly at first. I decided last weekend to do a fresh install of LEAP 15.4, knowing that 15.5 was to come out last week as the newest upgrade. Maybe I can glide into that one, when others have found the bugs and they have been worked out.
First, however, I took time on Sunday night to update all my backup files on a 2 Terabyte backup drive. I guess I produce a lot of written files, eh? It took until after midnight to finish the backup.
Then yesterday morning, as soon as I'd finished my devotions and a quick breakfast, I did a clean installation of LEAP 15.4.
It was all done in an hour! Whoopee! I spent some time fine- tuning my settings to get my colours and themes in place. Then I plugged in the USB cable of the backup drive, and - what!!?? it was rejected!
I've tried over and over, and various possible fixes. All to no avail. Even all my past RoseBouquet issues are on that backup drive, although I was able to go to my mailing program on my website and fetch one from there for now.
Although the best advice I can come up with is to do a fresh install again, and hope/pray that there is no problem with the backup drive this time.
I think I'm coping better this week than I did the 2-3 weeks before when I was trouble-shooting not just my own problems, but also some on behalf of clients.
I spent time this morning reviewing carefully the promises of God that I had chosen at the beginning of this year to focus on them daily and I do believe God will step in with good results today.
Also, I will have to (or take) time to set up my big batch of emails. That has to be done each time I re-install a system I'm pretty sure there are quite urgent emails I should be answering, but hopefully the writers will be able to survive until I get the email they use to reach me, up and running on this computer.
(Yes, I could go to the control panel of each website and check for them there, and answer the most urgent, but I much prefer to deal with them in my KMail program, so I can save each one in my own archives. This way is much quicker and more thorough too.)
