At My Place: God Has a Far-Better Plan!

Last week I told you all about wanting - even needing to get a driver to take this desk suite to my niece's home in Edmonton on Saturday.

However, a misunderstanding from my driver stalled the plan. It has since been cleared up, but all I could do on Saturday evening, was to calm myself down and not to fret or worry.

Just earlier in the afternoon I'd told a friend by phone that when things don't work out right for me, I tell myself that the LORD must have a better plan for me. I spent most of the evening trying to convince myself that this was true. Mostly I believed it.....

Then yesterday, several other calls happened. One was by a friend of the man I was counting on as a driver. He informed me that my driver had understood me to say that I was planning to go to Alberta in May.

What he didn't pick up or I didn't make clear was that is a plan for May 17th a Sunday, to go to Castor, AB, for the celebration of my Uncle & Aunt's 60th Wedding anniversary. (In no way tied to taking this desk suite to my niece in Edmonton).

Later I got a text message from the driver that he'd misunderstood, and that his buddy now was saying he'd come along with him for company.

OKAY! I relaxed and began to look forward to this is actually happening after all but on the 18th. I felt like the LORD had improved on my plans.

Just a bit later my brother Ernie and his wife, Dori, called me from Winnipeg. Turns out they had also been making plans!! But not until June when they would go to Edmonton for Ernie's grandson's grad! They planned to stop here in Saskatoon to load up the desk suite in a U-Haul and drive it to Jalise and Chris's place that same weekend!

They'd heard of my plans and thought I might be interfering with their plans!

Once I caught on I started to laugh. I told them how I'd told a friend recently how when things don't seem to work out it usually means that God has a far better plan in the works. Obviously, THIS WAS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF THIS!

I'd thought at a point that Ernie is a far better choice for this desk delivery than me, as he had driven big trucks in the past. For many years after he left the Canadian Forces, he worked at Jade Transport in Winnipeg as foreman of all the mechanics. He knows more about trucks than anyone I can think of! He can fix even long tanker trucks!

Since Ernie & Dori have done so much for me here (ie. deep-cleaning my kitchen) I didn't think I should be expecting even more from him.

Now I'll just have to wait 2 more months, and then this desk suite will go to Edmonton at the hands of the best man for the job! (I believe Dori is to follow him from here in their own car.)

All I can say is, "Hallelujah! Thank You, God!"
