My Friends are my RoseBouquet

At My Place: Forced to Slow Down More

I became excited last week; my back pain was letting up. I had finished the first 4 of the 8 weeks that I'd expected to be slowed down after getting a fracture in my spine. (The 4th one in my life!)

On Saturday, the 13th, I stooped to pick up something on the floor. A silent painful pop happened in my lower back. Just above my tailbone I've guessed.

This is a different pain. Mostly I only feel it when I bend over. I'm also hoping it will not take a full 8 weeks to recover because that part of the spine is mostly cartilage, right? If it does take as long - I will be sort'a out of commission until near the end of February.

I've managed to create a photo story of my garden of this past summer, but not the letter or a card, etc., so I feel very much interrupted in my regular plans and agenda, now held back from my extras for Christmas.

My patience is sorely tested these days. My car would not start Thursday to take me to my Chiropractor appointment, so I took a cab. (Expensive!)

A church friend came on Saturday to make sure my car would start to go to church Sunday morning. But the battery would not turn over on Sunday.

He came again yesterday and boosted the battery and I let it run for a whole hour before I went to check it.

The car was running, so I went to do some grocery shopping and banking. I came home utterly exhausted, but don't feel quite so house-bound now.

I work on the computer with the keyboard on my knees. The screen is 4 feet from my eyes, but miracle of miracles, I can read the smaller fonts!

See? When I look for them, I can find gems of joy in the midst of harder times.
