#1155 Vol.26 - Apartment Hunting for Erma - June 16, 2026

Dear Friends, Well my garden is seeded now, except for flowers along the sidewalk and fence borders. I plan to sow marigolds again on both sides of the sidewalk, and I have more colours of hollyhocks (seeds) now so I want to sow them along the fence I share with the neighbours to the east.

Because they become quite tall and get wide with all the leaves lower down, the hollyhocks will make a privacy border on that side like I have on the West.

When that's done I'll turn to getting some pots of flowers at the best corners, even in the front yard.

However, that is not the only thing absorbing me these days.

My sister Erma, is planning to come live here and has been getting calls about buildings with suites ready for occupancy. Since she cannot come rush- ing out here to check them out, she asked me to go tour them, take photos and ask questions, and let her know the details so she can decide where she would like to take up residence here.

I visited a building this morning where our brother Tom lived for quite a few years. (He died in 2019). The available suite is on the 10th floor.

Tomorrow I've got an appointment to check out another building that is 7 blocks west of me. The website photos look pretty good but Erma is concerned as to whether they have steps to get inside the building.

OH! There's a third thing happening this coming weekend. Remember that desk suite of my sister Elsie's that we've been wanting to move to my niece, Jalise's home in Edmonton?

Well!! Ernie & Dori are coming on Saturday to load it up. (Jalise & Chris are coming to help). Then they will head for Edmonton early on the Sunday morning.

Ernie's grandson. Aiden, is graduating from high school next week, and they want to be there for his graduation, and to take him back to Winnipeg with them.

Dull moments are hard to find here this week!

P.S. I'm having trouble figuring out these steps for transferring photos from my iPhone to my desktop or even an email. I need to find someone who can guide me through all the steps. And it appears that there are several ways to do this. I've only fussed with one way yet.

Maybe Jalise & Chris will help me with this riddle!
