We May Have Surprises Today

You will recall that last week I announced the RoseBouquet was going to be in a new location. Unfortunately I struggled to get set up there, and there were too many problems to deal with so I gave up and sent it out again, on an individual basis as before.

I was back there on Wednesday worked to find out what the rules and right-ways they had to work with. I made a number of changes and thought I'd "got it!"

Turn out - I had not got it. Even though I'd written a shorter version of this ezine to tell you that now I was IN.... I could not find the place on that website to send it.

Ouch!

I went back to the Sender site yesterday to see if there was any sign of hope that it would work this week.

But I still had problems, so I went to the Chat window to ask for help. I was busy the rest of the day with other things - Including a miraculous conclusion to another problem that involved the transfer of a domain name. (It had already been a 3 week saga of efforts that had failed.)

So it was only at midnight, when I was closing down some windows of programs, and spotted a reply from a support person at Sender. I became more encouraged! I was asked to send a screenshot of my DNS settings, and I did that. Also, I asked him to check what happened to my .csv file of my subscribers which I had uploaded.

I've just been trying again, and I was required to fill out my phone number and was to enter the code I would get - by phone, I imagine. But it hasn't happened yet.

So.... I better write this issue and resign myself to sending it out to each of you individually again.

P.S. Perhaps I should go back to the tech-guy at Dada-Mail and pay him to re-install that system. At least it worked until the crisis with the server for the whole site being down for a few days. At least that system worked. But it does cost to have it re-installed for me. (Sigh!)

What's New: Hallelujah! The Transfer Worked!

I prefer to think or talk about positive things, and I've been praising God since yesterday when finally - after 3 weeks of struggling to to transfer a domain name for the website of Manna-Publications.org.uk to their UK mission location. I had tried this over and over for them for the last 3 weeks or more and their new webmaster was politely asking me to try it again and again.

Last week I definitely felt I had seen a notice that the domain transfer had gone through! I was rejoicing at a done deal. But yesterday I got an email from Paul, their new webmaster, again, saying that it had NOT arrived at their Registrar's site yet.

Oh no! So I had to give up my afternoon work plans and get on this case again. I had complained by email to the Support Dept at the Head office of the reseller company I work with at this end (while their head office is in India). As politely as I could told my sob-story of trying over and over again to send this transfer of the domain name over to a Registrar (whose name I didn't have, but I thought was another branch of the company I work with). It seemed to leave my site quite easily enough, but Paul kept writing that it was NOT arriving at their end.

(Sigh!) But last week Friday when I'd tried it again, it appeared to go through; I saw a confirmation message on the screen where it was going out to them.

Yesterday Paul emailed again that it simply had not arrived in the UK. I groaned and went back to try again.

This time I went back over the 4 different emails I had used in the past to connect to the company Chat/Help window (it had NOT been working for me the past 3 weeks!) But this time it did! He/she named Tusker came on the chat window and was gracious. He gave me the instructions all over again. But when he/she asked me to open an incognito window I had problems getting to work in it. (I''d see one before but was not used to working in them). But the agent suggested I try this, then that, and finally I got a window where I could enter some of the domain name info. We agreed to compromise a bit because the incognito window wasn't working as the Support person thought it should.

Then, suddenly the information went through and he/she reported they could see it at their end. It had arrived - I'm assuming that was in India. He/she then asked me to enter a bit more info (tech details). Which brought out his/her enthusiastic response that it was DONE. An Invoice showed up on the screen so I quickly copied it so I could send it to Paul as proof that the domain transfer had truly in fact, happened!

This success has cheered me up wonderfully, and I now have faith to believe that several other things that have been held up on tiny details - WILL come through too!
