What's New: Some Relatives Will Soon Converge Here!


Isn't summer exciting? So many surprises can come your way. Or doesn't that happen to you?

A couple of weeks ago, my brother and sister-in-law from Winnipeg called to say they would be coming through here June 2-4th and I should make a list of things Ernie could do for me that were too much for me.

They will be staying in the back of their deluxe camper/truck at a nearby park.

Sunday afternoon, my sister called from Kelowna BC, to say that she and her daughter (now grown up and married), will be coming here this week to visit some relatives from her sister's in-laws side. They want to see a sister-in-law/Aunt who has a cancer- death-sentence. But they will also be visiting me.

Since Elsie has spent a number of years working for the BC Dept. of Agriculture, writing and teaching workshops for farmers and gardeners with a farm-gate business. She gave me two hours of advice over the phone on how to arrange my garden plants and how to rotate them for better production. I can't remember all that info, so she's going to teach me in person.

How lucky can I get! This is why I was not upset at all that my helpers couldn't fill up all the rows they drew in my garden soil.

I feel quite blessed! Although I know this is going to mess with my business hours too. But say, how often does one have relatives converge on you like this to help you out? Even if you are just a little ol' lady. (Or...wait, is that why they are coming?)

Very Basic Online Marketing Principles

One of my goals for this year is to learn a very simple but a very effective marketing plan so that I can sell Tom's diecast models and my ebooks.

I've spent one night a week for months doing research. Last night I narrowed my notes down to the most basic online promo or marketing principles I need to organize and apply. (I share these in case you need some basic, starter steps too.)

1. Think/study just what kind of buyers do we want to attract? What are they like, and what do they want that lines up with our product?

2. Prepare freebies (can be simple info PDF files) to offer. Place links/ads to this freebie on a landing page. Get them to give their email address to get the freebie, then lead them to your product sales pages.

3. Create mailing lists for those emails and regularlyh offer helpful tips and advice to win their confidence, so they will check out your sales offers.

PLUS 4. This is my own idea; pray and ask God to help you get some sales. This is the only step I've used so far, and in the last 2+ weeks, I've had two orders for the diecast models come in. The second one I plan to take to the post office this very afternoon. It is ready to ship!
