What's New: Cleaning Up!

I've been working on cleaning up my garden and yard for the winter - oh, several weeks now. I finished on Friday, and put away the summer tools in the shed on Saturday. I saw some more leaves in some places, but I'm going to ignore them.

Oh yes, I tidied up the back porch on Saturday.

It is time to move on to my next Clean Up project!

Yes, I've decided to give the same daily hour (M-F) to deep- cleaning each room in my house, and eventually the whole basement too.

This will help me get in my 1 hour a day of exercise, and I'll clear out a lot of clutter and do a better arrangement of the things I want to keep.

I'm hoping that giving 5 hours a week to each room will mean that all the rooms in my wee 610 sq foot house will be cleaned up quite well in time for Christmas. Hey, maybe even sooner! Like by the end of November!

December can be for getting gifts made and a mailing out before Christmas. Then in January I'll start on the basement. It is all one large room, but only 2/3 of the size of this floor. It is my Resources Warehouse! There is a lot of stuff stored down there. I hope to cut that stuff down by a large degree!

Hmm... ? Maybe I should even make an inventory, as it has happened in the past when I deep-clean things get moved and later I cannot FIND them!

Have you any wisdom or pointers to offer for this plan?

Helpful Pumpkin Pointers

There are so many things you can do with pumpkin! If you had some in your garden they are ripening fast now - even indoors and there are many things you can do with pumpkin. Let's name a few of them:

* Cut open the pumpkin, roast it in the oven, scrape out the pulp and use it in many recipes, including soups and breads!

* Pumpkin will support digestion, regulate blood sugar and reduce the risk of heart disease.

* You can cut and freeze raw pumpkin if you have more than you can use at one time.

* If you didn't grow any pumpkins - watch for bins FULL of them at the grocery stores!

* There are hundreds of recipes using Pumpkin online. Just do a search and you will discover many recipes - so it will be hard to decide which to try first! CountryLiving.com has a page (with a super long-long-long! URL); it has 75 Pumpkin recipes on that one page, and most of them are desserts!

Do your own search and find what pleases you best!
