What's New: Changes at a Client Website

Ike was my contact person for a website about Creation science (the Christian viewpoint). He did not understand even the basics about a website, but as Treasurer he would sometimes tip me for the work I did on their site. The others were farther away, or even if close-by, websites were from a different planet as far as they understood.

I had been waiting for a chance to explain to Ike why I would recommend that their site, which I was asked several years ago to turn into a Word Press blog site - could be turned back into a static site, so there would be less danger of their site being hacked.

Ike was keen on Creation Science and often invited people from church or elsewhere to come see the skies from his telescope.

Their Treasurer emailed me for a report on the website which I wrote up, with lots of detail, and STATS too. He did not know how to open an attachment when I sent him my report, so I printed out 5 copies and suggested he come to pick them up from me.

Sunday evening I had an email from the Chairman of their Board. John had understood most of my report and was excited at the possibilities! He gave me an okay to go ahead to turn their site back to a a Static site as I'd suggested, and then, as a retired school teacher he asked questions about providing lesson material for home-schooling families, with quizzes and answer sheets to be downloaded.

That's a great idea! I don't know why they didn't bring that up much sooner. John lives in another city further south of us, but his enthusiasm was catching!

So now I know I need to make room in my schedule to get that site rebuilt, and probably adding a number of PDF files for download.

Do you see how my busy life gets these fresh breezes blowing new and more projects for me to do? It's a good thing the LORD is always close by and ready to step in to help me out.

<*> TIPS & SOLUTIONS: <*>

How to Solve a Problem

Think the problem situation over very carefully. Are there any sub- problems? Name them, and decide what methods or tools to use in solving each of those smaller parts.

Study the problem again; are there more sub-parts or components? What could be done to sort out or remove those parts?

Does this solve the main or big problem? If not, study it some more. Look at it from various angles, or the viewpoints of different people. Do some solutions now appear?

Is there an obstacle to remove? Take it away. Simplify what should be happening in this situation; what is in the way?

Could the process be divided into two or three simple steps? If one person would do this part, and another do this other part, does it all work out better then?

Gradually, or sometimes all of a sudden, the solution is right there before your eyes and ears! YOU know what to do!
