[Whoops! I was just done with this article when the power went off; now I have to write it all over again!]
Hmm..? Have I really forgotten so much in half an hour? But hopefully this will be more condensed now.
The last couple of weeks have been taut with problems that meant sacrificing my quiet, creative business hours for the most part, to deal with Support departments for various situations.
One was to release 3 domains for some friends who wanted to move them to another server as they have got a new web builder to work on them. It should have been just a few easy clicks on my part releasing their domains, but that didn't seem to hold true at the other hand.
Last night I finally got a Support agent at Reseller Club who knew where to look in hidden files for the hiccups. He was confident that the transfers would go through in a few hours.
I've also struggled to find a money transfer program online that will accept my new credit card and allow me to send funds to some poor folks that I've been supporting. It seems they have all switched over to mobile apps (not my expertise!) But the letter I wrote to the head office of one, has been turned over to a woman who phones me and several times has walked me through the login process. Saturday we stalled at a page of apps, but none that I can use on my desktop. She called again yesterday determined to help me do it on my cell phone. Since she was so gracious and kind, I agreed, but we were held up with a login that wouldn't work, and I used up my limit of tries, so she is going to call again today (after 24 hrs), which is in half an hour!
I admit it is surprising to find such a tenacious support person willing to to go to great lengths to help me! So I praise God for this encouragement too.
Another matter was about the renewal of my hosting contract with Hostgator. Three years ago I signed up for a package which I had to pay for in advance. With prices going up I feared this would be over $5000. However, when I called their Support about another login problem, when Simon asked if I had any other questions I mentioned this (I had not been able to login to check for myself). He looked it up and informed that I had already paid up for a year, and that the rules had now changed to just 1 year at time. It was all done on Mothers' Day when I paid to have all my sites migrated to a NEW VPS server. I think that was $1300+ and it covered everything. Whew! Hallelujah! Another miracle!
Yet another problem has been with my new Mastercards from Affinity, my credit union. One was to be a debit card and the other a business credit card, but I seemed to get them mixed up. I called Support a woman helped me sort them out, then later I sensed that I'd had them right at first, and she had reversed them for me. I tried one in Walmart on Sunday and it was rejected. So... I've been waiting for time to get this sorted out again.
Those have been the biggest trials, but sensing my tension over them yesterday morning I prayed for resolution and completion of these issues, and as I've noted above, three of them came to such a point yesterday. So I'm feeling much more relaxed today.
I hope that you know you can experience this too. Put all your trials and problems in the LORD's hands. He loves to surprise us with amazing solutions!
