Last fall I got another back fracture and was almost grateful when I had only one customer for my front porch plant sale. (He came 3 times and bought each time, so I'm not complaining.) But I wasn't going to have plant sale this fall.
Then Leah offered me some sansevieria zeylanica plants. (You may know them as "snake" plants). In fact, they give off oxygen 24/7 so they make great plants for your bedroom. They help you to sleep well. They are very tall (3-4 ft) and tend to multiply until the pot is too full.
Leah's husband died just recently, so I felt sorry for her as she is trying to downsize their very full home, as I don't really need more of these plants, nor do I really have room.
However, I decided I better plan to separate these extra tall plants and put them into better-looking pots. But then I better do some transplanting of my eagerly multiplying aloe vera plants too, and announce a front porch plant sale again this fall.
Last evening I spray-painted about 16-17 plastic tubs and pots, and I've bought some too, so I should have quite a jungle in the porch by the end of this week!
I'll have to watch the weather forecasts for night-time temperatures which may dip below 0 C. Aloe vera especially goes black and limp - yes, even in the porch. Those nights I have to lug all the plants into this room and park them on newspaper for the night. Then lug them back out again in the morning.
P.S. If you come buy a big pot full, I'll give you 2 small ones for free!
