My Friends are my RoseBouquet

My Normal Time/Agenda is Back

I do not like to be whining and complaining, but you may have picked up the last few weeks that I was super busy with website work for clients (who are normally quite silent), and I go so busy that I had to set aside my own work agendas for seven weeks!

I confess that I was beginning to feel rather homesick for my old routines each day. Normally, I'm always glad and quick to step up to help someone out when they have a problem - like with their website. But this was going on day after day, and before I finished with one client's requests, another was asking for help.

(A certain enemy saw my distress, and turned up the pressure to fix this or that for another client. One man was very direct about wanting a caption under a certain photo, something that is not normally required. I do know how to doctor up photos in a program called GIMP, but this called for an extra white layer under the image that was large enough at the bottom to allow a white border for the caption.

Since I don't normally do that, I had to go online and hunt for the instructions as to how to do that, and then struggle with several tries before it came out right.

Even then, it would not show the image on the website. More research, until I stumbled upon the idea that I had to merge all the layers of the image down so they became just one layer. At last, it came out right!

By the time I had that done and the text on the header- banner edited for the exact places where the commas were to go, it was midnight, and I had lost my evening to work on the new .xml sitemaps I was going to try out on the site for my brother's diecast models.

I was begging God to give me my old routine schedule back again. And lo, Friday and Saturday were all mine. So was Sunday evening! And yesterday too! So I've begun to relax. I can breath and think normally again.

This doesn't mean I've got through all my to-do lists, but now I'm addressing them one at a time, and feeling as if I'm making some progress once more.

Maybe you can identify. Do others crowd in with their projects on your work agenda? How long do you last before you get somewhat antsy?

Even a routine that would be boring to someone else is important to us if it gets us gradually to our goals.
