Ah-ha! Our Canada-wide postal strike is over as of yesterday, and like many others I'm eager to see what a 'haul' of mail will be in my mailbox today!
Because I have a business account with Canada Post I have been getting update emails from them about every other day. On the weekend they were saying the four- week strike would over Monday/yesterday, and the mail would be moving by Tuesday, but we should put off trying to mail anything for a few days, because they have a HUGE backlog of mail to start delivering first!
In my imagination I've been trying to imagine how many mail bags the postie will have hanging from his big shoulders. Or will he use a rolling luggage cart so he can take 4 or 5 bags worth of mail at once?
(If he arrives before I'm finished here, I'll be able to tell you just how loaded down he was. I'm sitting quite close to the window.)
Of course, if he's carrying several bags full of mail it will slow down his steps too...!
I used to make home-made Christmas cards to send out; in the last few years, I was lucky to get a Christmas letter out, but this month I haven't got around to it. Just too busy.
So the Garden Tour (photos) letter and my Testimony booklet, "My Passions" I started sending out in the month of October is it. If you downloaded it when I gave you the links here, you already have Christmas mail from me.
I do have another idea for gifts I can make & mail. However, I have a feeling they aren't going to be ready to mail out until January.
Yes. Too many projects on my plates!
I'm not aware of anything special going to be in the mail today, or over the next few days, but I am rather excited because there COULD be some amazing treasures in the mail!
I have no room for a Christmas tree and even if I did, I have no gifts for myself to put under it, but if I am to get any surprises - they will be in my mailbox - today, or in the next few days!
P.S. Oh, the woman that brings the wad of ad flyers each week, just put that wad in the mailbox. I took it out to make room for the treasures I'm hoping for.
