Some Recent WINS!

Yes, some good things have happened in my business life - well in my personal life too. Let's see if I can count them up now.

I was stuck for weeks on getting the payment processing set up so that customers could buy my eBooks from my genealogy website. That has come together, and is working. Now I just need to get the word out! https://agodlyinheritance.com/books/

My "End of Summer" letter which I sent to many friends and relatives who have no email or computers, as a printed edition, and then also to a good number by email, got into the hands of a dear elderly lady from our church, Anne Baerg, who is in her 90s. She is in a care home now and is hard of hearing - (she could not make out who I was when I called her some weeks ago to offer to bring her over here to see my garden, so I'd sent her a printed letter).

Well, her step-son Gordon and his wife, Claudia, receive her mail after she has read it, and they saw my mention and photos of the 4 eBooks I had worked so hard on. Claudia phoned this last week and asked if they could buy a printed copy for Anne's birthday this Friday the 8th.

Whoa! I'd hoped most would just buy the e-book though I had imagined that some seniors might want a printed and bound copy. I was bracing myself to charge $50 extra to discourage too many requests like that. But for dear Anne... I decided to waive that fee and go ahead and print/bind one for her. Well, I got to printing it on Sunday afternoon, and later after our ESL class on Zoom, I was able to get it bound. So this afternoon Claudia is coming to purchase this book for Anne. Because it is my book to honour my beloved and godly Gr'ma, I am sure Anne will enjoy it.

I'd also fussed over setting up a mailing list connected to my genealogy website so that buyers of the ebooks and other who want to discuss genealogy research, would end up on this email list and thus allow me to keep connected with them. I finally got that set up on Friday morning.

There is also the matter of letting people know that I have something of value to sell. I know that my weakness is "marketing" online. But it happens that MLSP, a website that provides lots of training webinars and videos to help people to learn attraction marketing (their Wed. night webinars are always FREE, by the way) they have offered an 8-week Bootcamp which starts tonight. Each week they will have a top marketer who has made 6-7 figure incomes online share their top methods. I think I know about most of them, but I signed up for this extra training, and hope to get a strong handle on several methods to promote not just these eBooks, but other products and affliate links on my various sites. I would really like to see several streams of income start to come in! They say this is very probably if I pick up some good advice from these EIGHT EXPERTS.

Last week Brian Finale said that if we meet someone who wants to sign up they can still do so until about the 3rd week. Since they will have full access to all the replays it is not like you get short-changed.

Oh yes. I have been meaning to have an Aloe Vera plant sale but last week the temperature at night got so close to ZERO that I had to lug 15-16 heavy pots of aloe vera into this room over night so they would not freeze.

Well, between Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon I got a number of those plants propped up or standing more firmly in their pots. I tried to buy more pots but the stores have put the gardening stuff away and set out the Halloween stuff. (Sigh!) so Ive been scrounging for more pots to plant more of my aloe vera, as I do NOT have room to have them all in the windows this winter.

Yesterday morning I put them back into the porch, took some photos and set up a Kijiji ad. I meant to do one on Facebook too, but they were down - so I want to try right after this is posted, and see if I can get most of these plants sold this week yet. The forecast is for frost several nights next week!! Ee-eK!! Oh yes... I have several shelves full of young, starter aloe vera plants to nurse through the winter - indoors, and I will soon have lots to spare again. There is still the garden to clean up for winter.... but that may have to wait becaue I've remembered that this Sunday/Monday is Thanksgiving weekend for Canadians, and I had meant to invite over some singles who don't have a family home to go home to for the big turkey meal. I'm hesitating to send out invitations today, as I need to make sure I can find/make time to cook the meal and to get this room tidy enough by Sunday.
