I did have my front porch shelves full of 16 good-sized aloe vera and 12 small, starter aloe vera plants in plastic tumblers, which I meant to give away as freebies with each sale...are still here. Parked on newspapers/flyers all around my desk. (The nights have had freezing temperatures, and I am quite weary of lugging them back and forth twice a day). So I'm going to cancel the sale today, and I'll work at figuring out where I can place these plants near my indoor windows.
Oh yes, I should mention that their numbers increased on Saturday morning, when I transplanted 10 medium sized plants from a crowded pot into ones of their own. Plus, I managed to hammer and force 8 Sansevieria Zelancia, (better known as Snake plants, and other scientific names), out of a crowded pot and repotted them into 6 other pots.
I think I can create a shelf over a printer here on my desk.
If I clear off some pantry shelves I can get some more there.
If I can find a board as long - but wider than my bedroom window - sticking into the room over the sill... then I can get maybe 4 more plants there.
If anyone comes to the door looking to buy aloe vera plants I can still let them buy, but they will have tour through my house to see them all.
For now I'll leave them on the floor around my desk until I get these accommodations prepared for them.
I understand that our American neighbours celebrated a holiday this last weekend too. Columbus Day, right? I don't know if you serve special meals for that holiday but if I had thought it over better last week I should have shared a holiday recipe.
Maybe you will want to copy and paste this into a plain document and print it out to tuck into your cookbooks. It is one of the easiest to prepare!
Wash and scrap some carrots, and slice them up.
Brown them in a frying pan with butter as a choice over oil, if you can.
When they are tender and nearly done, sprinkle a good pinch or two of brown sugar over them and stir. They will take on a bit more of a bronze colour, and will have a very winsome, winning flavour. This is also easy to whip together in a matter of minutes when you are running out of time
and oven spaces.[Back to Archives Index ] ~~ [Back to Main RoseBouquet Page]
