Do you recall that my brother Ernie got married in 2020, in Winnipeg, but because of COVID restrictions, it was held in a small studio, with just a pastor and their two witnesses. Last year they wanted to have an anniversary reunion or merging of their families. But again the COVID rules intervened and caused them to cancel that plan.
This year it is coming to pass! I've got my flight tickets to leave on Friday evening, July 15, and to come back on the Monday evening, July 18. My sisters are going to be there too, and my neice Beth. I'm disappointed that none of my great-nieces and nephews will be there. But I shall get to meet Dori's daughters and 3 granddaughters.
I did some math on Sunday, and guess what. It is 34 years since I last had a vacation of even a weekend. Back then in 1998 it was Dad and me driving to BC to visit relatives and my pen pals. That trip took us 21 days. (We were in 21 homes, but only slept in 4 or 5).
Having seen the agenda of activities that Ernie and Dori have planned, and realizing that I'll get to know my own sisters afresh, and also Dori's family, I am looking forward to this quick weekend vacation!
You may expect some photos after I get back. :).
Last night I saw some advice about how to hide a tummy. (When your spine loses 8 or morer inches your tummy can no longer pretend to be stuck to your back, it will step forward!) So I have been wondering about this question.
1. Give up my soft, clinging clothes.
2. No more belts as they will ride above the tummy and make it more obvious.
3. Look for tops that spread out casually over the tummy without revealing it's shape. Especially if that top has an uneven hem - maybe several points hanging down in soft folds.
4. Wear dark colours as your basic first level, then light-coloured tops or jackets above, but hanging loosely over the tummy area. (See? Your tummy just found a hiding place!)
