Last week I took time over two days to watch two different free training courses in copywriting. (That's good persuasive sales pages, or ads, etc.) Apparently the highest paid job one can get online is as a copywriter, but it takes some training and then lots of practice.
The first lesson's instructor pointed out that the best preparation is to do lots of reading - of all kinds every day, and also to write as much as possible everyday.
My reaction was; "Ah-ha! I score 100 points right here!"
But I took notes and have made myself a 2-page summary sheet which I keep handy so that I can follow all the tips and become really skilled at this.
Where am I going to use this skill, you wonder?
Well, if you saw how I've renewed my goals for selling those diecast models of Tom's on my eCommerce site - where I am now entering products at an increasing pace. Also, that I want to polish up a number of ebooks I've begun or written in the past, but I want them to be up-to-date, so I can sell them too, from my other sites. PLUS, I have that long list of ideas for more ebooks from a couple of years ago. Each one will need at least some paragraphs to a full page to persuade potential customers that they want and need THIS eBook!
In fact, it just occurred to me that I could offer free downloads to the subscribers to this RoseBouquet email list. Others will have to BUY them. :)
Oh yes, but then my garden is mostly still thriving, so there is picking, weeding and watering to do. I have various projects I want to do in my house, but they will have to wait until the garden is put to bed for the winter.
Is it any wonder that it feels as if this summer is racing by me in an awfully great hurry?
For you too?
Yikkes! How pathetic! I feel awfully sorry for you. So I'll make you an offer.
If your problem is NOT sheer laziness, or that you are physically as helpless as a newborn baby, then write me and tell me what kinds of interests you have and what topics inspire you, and if you have any physical handicaps.
Then I'll send you a list of ideas that YOU might just be able to do if you can get enthused about them. You also need to be willing to take on some learning curves. If you are totally against learning anything new - well, then I'll give up on you too. But only as a last resort!
