Okay, I could talk first about getting ready for Easter, but I have nothing dramatic or outstanding to share on that point. I plan to go visit a friend in a nursing home after church on Sunday (oh, and that service will be exciting as there are to be some baptisms too!).
I haven't decided yet either if I should invite some guests for a meal, but that would likely be a supper rather than a late lunch..
Instead, let me continue talking about the discoveries I make as I rebuild my novel's website section by section. I finished with the articles last week, so this week I'm working on the Short Story Game I had set up in about 2002. I've neglected it so long that re-reading the short stories I have there, has been a treat. Those are pretty good - if I say so myself! (I'll share one story with you in the next section: What's New. Though it is 20 years old.).
I had received a deck of cards that could be used to choose the elements of a story plot and if you had enough imagination, you could write a short story from those elements. I wrote some stories to interest and lure my RoseBouquet subscribers to try it too. I only got a couple of submissions. I'm going to think deeply on this and decide whether to start up this game again..
I've just tested the form for submitting short story entries and it doesn't work. I'll have to set up a new one. However, if you want to check out the stories that have been there some time, you can start from this index page: https://ruthes-secretroses.com/Library/S/index.shtml (Sorry, I had a headache yesterday, so I only got 3 stories rebuilt on the new template. I'll get to work on the remaining 8 this afternoon). Tomorrow you might most of them are done on the green background..
I just had my first Easter card in the mail this morning. Betty, who used to be a neighbour in London, now married and living in Vancouver sent me a lovely photo of her pink and yellow tulips..
Ah! That make me look forward to my irises that I had dug up and replanted in many different corners of my garden and front yard two years ago. They are offspring from the ones Mom had. They are mostly white, but with mauve streaks and a bright yellow center. I had just 9 bulbs when I moved here, and when I did that replanting, I had 42 of them! Only a few bloomed last spring, but I think they should be well-rooted now, so this spring I hope to bunches of them in every direction I look in the garden!.
Last week was clearly spring weather, and the snow melted off my garden. But this week we are shivering in our parkas again, and I see snowflakes floating by the window. The south-east corner of Saskatchewan is suppose to have a blizzard today. Yuck!.
The weather is to be burly until Sunday, and then the sun will come out and the temperatures start to climb up higher and higher. So I'm now expecting spring to arrive next week, take off it's coat and stay a while - like right into summer!.
