I had more problems with that shopping cart software last night. The Admin area had kicked me out last Monday night, and I had not been able to find a way to fix that. So it was the top of my to-do list last night. I almost got discouraged enough to have a meltdown, but then I prayed and asked God for His help.
I perked up and went back to the forums connected to that software, and read and read, but at first I wasn't finding anyone dealing with such a problem. Then when I got a few pages further in - (the line at the bottom just showed links for 5 pages at a time out of 130+) I did come to posts where others had had this problem.
Turns out that when you are not actively doing something while logged in, the system kicks you out, and after so many tries, it blocks you for an hour! It meant to be a security feature. A more advanced, wiser member explained how to fix that. I tried that, but could not login again yet.
A little further I came to another new user complaining of a similar problem. They were advised to go delete the contents of the Customer logins table in the database. Hmm....? I found that with some hunting, deleted the two lines that only represented me, and Presto! I could login again!
By that time it was about 10 pm so I got to work to set up my settings appropriate to this site to sell my brother Tom's diecast models. I kept working steadily so that the system would not catch me idle for even 5 to 10 minutes. I got most of that work finished by about midnight, and I was not kicked out even once! Hallelujah!
So I'm on a new and steady learning curve here. But I'm learning to appreciate all over again that my God understands modern software and all kinds of tech stuff; I can really count on Him to help me find the right answers when I get stuck.
All He asks of me is that I persevere in 'asking' and 'seeking' the answers, and that I trust Him! If this encourages you to press on - Great![Back to Archives Index ] ~~ [Back to Main RoseBouquet Page]
