Yes, I'm getting ready for an indoor plant sale. I'll be running it from the shelves in my front porch, and hope to be able to announce that I'm all set next week. (I'm only going to announce it when I am truly ready, to avoid excess pressure.)
My indoor aloe vera plants, and some Christmas Cactii, and also some Sanseveria Zealancia (also known as snake plant, or mother-in-law tongue) have multiplied and need to be divided. The spaces in front of 4 of my windows is already all full, so I hope to sell the excess before the first over-night frost, or else I'll have to throw out a lot of dead plants!
Yes, that happened in 2007 when I moved here. I had 45 pots and pails full of plants in my unheated front porch, and I had been warning myself to watch out for a night frost. But one morning I came out through my inner door to go work at the mission, and found all 45 plants hanging limp and black!
I had only six small aloe vera plants indoors and have rebuilt my inventory to well over 40 aloe vera plants - even with a fall sale about every other year, they keep multiplying heartily. (Some pots have about 12 new plants in them).
This past Saturday I culled the pots with dead plants or hardened soil and took them out to dump the soil in the garden, and set them by the rain barrel for a good cleaning. I finished that yesterday, and brought in the ones that work for house plants, and left outside the ones that are better for outdoor plants.
This project is sort'a taking priority over the garden, but I did go out to take a few more photos for the 2022 Garden Photo Tour - which is at 8 pages, but may end up as 9 pages full of photos. This is a Sunday evening project for me, but I hope by the next issue of the RoseBouquet I can give you a link... well, no, I may have you ask for it.
I've been learning that I should not give away everything for free; having people ASK for something means I can count how many really wanted it. That could be very useful information. This can also keep some from downloading it and then putting up on their sites as their own, and CHARGE for it.
Yikkes! Some people's children have no manners!
