I've been wondering this morning what I can write about that is not all about me. You may be getting weary of always reading about my different activities or things I've just learned. Since I have many things on the go, that is a go-to-source for these chatty writings to you, dear Reader.
But now I'm stumped for a non-me-based topic.
So I'm issuing you an invitation; please feel free to write and suggest a topic you would like me to write about. If I get several of those ideas, I will have fodder for a few issues of the RoseBouquet.
I've got the garden tilled on Friday, and Saturday morning I was pleased to get 15 rows seeded! I'm eager to get more done, and my two ESL students have said they are willing to come help, so I plan to take them up on that this coming Saturday. Which means I may have more photos to show you.
Yesterday, I heard a recording of a radio broadcast by Elizabeth Elliott. She has passed away a couple of years ago, but you may remember her as the missionary who took her little daughter to live with the Auca Indians in Ecuador, after her husband, Jim, was martyred together with four other missionary men by that head-hunter tribe. Her radio program has been called Gateway to Joy for a number of years, and I believe she wrote a book by that title.
Since I play BBNradio.org on the computer all day long I hear her program at 9:15 softly in the background while I'm finishing my prayer time. I caught just one sentence that stopped me in my tracks. Elizabeth said, "Whatever your crisis or bag of problems you are facing, hand them over to the LORD, and watch Him turn them into your Gateway to Joy."
I caught my breathe as I thought, 'I've heard her say that before, but that is exactly what I need to do with certain problems that I can't seem to solve on my own!' Just like that I believed that if I did that with this problem installing the OpenCart software, and my pinched nerve in my neck, these problems could turn into some priceless blessings for me.
So I handed these problems over to the LORD yesterday, several times, and also this morning, and each time my faith and confidence grows stronger that I shall discover new joys in these very problems! I shall have testimonies to share in this vein soon!
I recommend this to you!
