Changes - Some Seasonal - Some Not

Have you noticed? Summer is winding down, and Fall is fast approaching. How do we know?

Well, this is the last day of August, but I see other signs too.
1. This one tree in front of this window has more and more yellow leaves on it.

2. The garden plants are browning off. Last evening I cut off a whole bunch of giant zucchini, and pumpkin plant leaves that had turned grey and brittle. I left some as shelter for the pumpkins that probably don't like too much hot sun. Mind you, one is fully golden orange now, another one is nearly so, and a third one is still green.

3. I gathered a number of zinnia flowers that have finished blooming. But I know the brown pokers in the center are seeds for next year. I have plenty of hollyhock seeds too, but haven't got to gathering them yet.

4. Ah, and the later row of radishes I'd sown when the early ones turned into seed pods in the heat, but which had stalled in growth at about 2-3 inches high, now have taken to growing in the rains and cooler temperatures of the last few weeks. I brought in two fresh radishes last night.

5. If you have young children or grandchildren, you will be well aware that a new school year starts next week, or after Labour Day the week after. I don't have kids, but as a volunteer with our church's ESL class for newcomers to English, classes start agaub the Sunday after Labour Day. So my Sunday morning routine is affected.

6. The only vacation I've had was the one day drive to Moose Jaw on July 11th to celebrate a friend's birthday. Otherwise, I've been working long days and busy weeks all since New Years Day on my websites, and as I've been reporting... I got stalled on the genealogy website in February when I decided to update my e-books, which stretched to a 7 month intensive project. I was going to create the sales pages for each e-book yesterday, but spent the morning talking long distance with a cousin, asking for updates on his sons and their families. Then I prepared charts for him to fill out and emailed them to him.

After lunch I suddenly felt so limp and exhausted that I decided to have a short nap first. I did not wake up until my sister in Ontario called me after 5 pm. (She just had cancer surgery last week Thursday). I know the Lord has promised to give us rest when we are weary or burdened, but I did regret that I had not had enough will power to press on. So I plan to get on with that work today.

7. Once those pages are done on https://agodlyinheritance.com I plan to take a week or two to find good ways to monetize the three websites I had already made responsive since last October. After that I want to press on to rebuild another site of mine that is devoted to the theme of Generosity and how to give wisely to those in ministries or in need. Hopefully, that will only take a month or so. There is some danger of getting held up on some e-books there too. :)

P.S. Due to relentless efforts to hack into the blog, I have deleted it and move my weekly posts to this Department on my novel's site, which is all about my Friends being my Roses or RoseBouquet, and has been from the beginning, in 2001.
