Well, I must apologize; I had intended to share some photos of my Christmas cactii blooms - such beautiful hot pink glorious flowers dripping from the long shiny green leaves!
I noticed on Saturday when watering them that the plants in the east window, high up, near the ceiling, had somehow sneaked several leaves through the screen and there were blooms hanging on the other side, though there was a pane of glass beyond them. I managed to take some photos with my old (now unpredictable digital camera, as the batteries keep dying in just a day or two).
Only... now I can't find where I saved those photos on this desktop.
On top of that, the Christmas cactus in my bedroom is dripping with even bigger blooms. I've tried this morning to take photos with my Kodak camera, but it refuses, and I've run out of batteries to put in there - even for a few minutes.
Some friends gave me their Sony CyberShot. I did get a couple of photos taken on it, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get my desktop to recognize it via a USB port! Ouch!!
So I tried taking photos with my cell phone. I got two nice sharp photos. But again, since I had this computer upgrade, I cannot figure out how to get the desktop to recognize it when I plug it into a USB port.
I'm stuck! So I can only apologize, for I was going to share my delight over these wonderful flowers this morning, and unless I take some hours to do research and finally discover how to connect these devices,... so, right now I'm hoping that will happen before next Tuesday. So all I can do for now is whet your curiousity for this treat in the future.
Incidentally, in case you are going to suggest that I should go buy a new camera... I have already shopped around several times. The few stores that carry a digital camera with a memory card that I can connect to my desktop computer - have only the most expensive ones that cost hundreds of dollars. This dear little Kodak that I bought from Kijij some 8 to 10 years ago for $20, has served me so well. I even tried buying one via eBay this fall, only to find that it didn't work either, and was in even older shape than mine. I sent it back!
More than one person has told me that I have a better camera in my cell phone. I don't deny that, but until I can get it connected to my desktop it means I can't use those photos.
