Ruth Marlene Friesen
About the Author
Ruth returned in 1983 to Hague, to be a full-time caregiver to
her aged parents. Her mother's frail health made her house-bound
until her death in November 1997, but this gave Ruth time to
write. Her creative imagination and broad interests leads her to
try many things, including crafts, making gift books by hand,
family history books, tile-laying... you name it, she's not
afraid of work. Sometimes she compares herself to the Rebecca in
the Bible, who not only gives a cup of water when asked, but
waters all your camels too!
She
loves to read and write most of all, and finds working on the
internet and by email custom-made for her. It's a place where she
can finally be prolific and share out of her very full heart and
mind. Ruth has patiently worked on this novel of spiritual
fiction for many years, believing it will be her major
accomplishment in life. However there are more books in her
imagination than she can write in one lifetime. "Maybe
things will go faster after this one flies," she says.
Ruth
has for many years been busy in church and Children's ministries.
In London, Ontario, besides being the part-time church secretary,
while working as a receptionist at Philips Electronics, she was
the first woman on her church's Executive Board. She has taught
Sunday School since she was 17, and for four years was the
Superintendent of Sunday School at her present church at
Neuanlage Grace Mennonite in Saskatchewan. Now she's teaching again.
When
Ruth lived in London, she was Coordinator and Chief Guide of
Pioneer Girls Clubs, and wrote and directed an original summer
program for church kids, Then she was AWANA Clubs Director and
Secretary at the Neuanlage church for eight years, and for four
summers, both directed the Vacation Bible School, and
designed/prepared all the crafts. All the while she was secretly
writing this novel.
Her
current priorities are, caring for her father, and her many
internet ventures, including an inspirational bi-weekly ezine, RoseBouquet,
aimed at those who want to follow her writing career, and keep up with
all she's doing on the internet.
She has worked full-time since January 1999, at
learning to explore and use the internet, designing websites,
making friends, all with the ultimate goal of publishing this
book, and the ones that will inevitably follow, and in finding
ways to help people and in giving all the profits of the book to
the God, as she awaits the Lord's morning glory, when we shall
see Him face-to-face who loved us and gave Himself for us!
