A Tour of the Basement in Dad's House
Remember, you are going to be blind to all the stuff that still needs to be packed and put away - or moved!
Other pages in this tour;
Front, garage, woodwork shop and outside views
Kitchen, dining and living room
bedrooms and bath, and sunroom (main floor)
 Beside the foot of the stairs our marvelous little water boiler furnace! Powered by inexpensive natural gas, it keeps this house warm and snug all winter - no fuss - no muss - no bother. Mom insisted on it because of her allergies; I've been very glad too.
 Afraid the mirrors cause some doubling (ie. curtains). Those cabinets are coming with me! I made them myself out of gift-monies. (And another day I'll give you a photo story of how I built the brick and ceramic tile shower)."
 stepping into Dad's workshop (which I seriously tidied up on Good Friday) - looking to the right
 Dad's workshop but looking to the left where a lot of stuff is stashed - but it's coming out!" This room would make a great kid's play room, or a Family room if not a workshop.
 Another look from the storage end to the workshop end
Just to the beyond my suite's door and the other side of the stairs is more....
 A utility area, with an upright freezer, and some storage
 Still more storage area in a long narrow space to the north wall
 My bed-sitting room suite - a long narrow room - my private haven
 Looking the length of the room from my bed
Oh, before we go back up you might want to see the sump pump in the potato pit, in the cold storage room.
 There it is, faithfully pumping the water out as the special hole in which it sits, gets filled with water
Okay, now you've seen the nth degree inside and out, and in spring time, no less!. :) Thanks for being so kind!
Things looked better last summer when the garden was all luscious and attractive;
Our Garden in the summer of 2006:
May Preparations and Sowing
June Rains Make Plants Jump Up
July Jubilations Over Abundance
August - Heavy into Harvest
September Sweep Up
NOTE: Special thanks to George Descalchuk for sharing his photos!
