Okay, quickly now, I'll put up these shots so you can see what my original idea for a quilt effect on my kitchen wallpaper looks like.

I started with some very old, old wallpaper that had scenes of a racoon fishing and frying his fish and having a shower, all with a red fox or two in the background, spying on him. I thought they were rather cute but needed some way to incorporating them with something else, as there wasn't enough to do much else with them. So I splashed a few of these on different walls, and cut pieces from a variety of wallpaper sample books, and formed a lazy circle around the scenes. (True quilters will be aghast at my pattern).

And again in the corner by the window where I have my dining nook.



When I realized that i had not got a scene up yet with the racoon frying his fish, and it looked like I wouldn't have enough of the plain wallpaper to finish, I slapped one in the corner behind the backdoor. I was too tired to try to quilt around that one.

Some days I am rather amused at my creative kitchen wallpapering, but other days I start thinking - as soon as I get my hands on some better wallpaper, I'll do this all over again - nicely, for a change. But hey, it might just stay until I can afford a whole new kitchen. Then all the plaster walls are suppose to come out too. I'll do it right then. :)
